Great Budworth Ice Cream Farm
was launched in the Spring 1994. New Westage Farm
is a small dairy farm run by the Wilkinson family
with a herd of Friesian cows. After daughter Sarah
had completed a degree course in Food & Dairy
Technology the loose boxes were converted into
a dairy and shop. Fresh Milk is transferred daily
into the Dairy and combined with the finest natural
ingredients to produce a high quality Ice Cream.
Great Budworth village is only a quarter of a mile
from the farm and is an attractive Cheshire village
with St Mary and All Saints church. It attracts many
visitors each year who wander along the avenue of
trees, down the hill to a running pump and admire
the timbered cottages.
More parking has now been created so that you can
walk into the village and back (approx 1 mile round
trip) avoiding congestion along the narrow streets
of the village. With these parking facilities it
makes us ideal for Rambling groups, with many circular
footpath routes. By prior arrangement you are welcome
to park with us and you can enjoy a hot drink and
a freshly prepared cake or an ice cream on your return.
We are delighted to welcome daughter-in-law Rachel
who has joined our friendly team of staff who are always happy to meet you, and
if you are here at the right time you can see the
cows coming from the fields for afternoon milking.
We regret the farm is not open to the public, but
pre-booked tours can be arranged.
During school holidays, weather permitting, we have a bouncy castle to enjoy.
Also, Throughout the summer we have weekend events taking
place, which include carriage rides and the Bostock
Band entertaining us. Over the past 3 years our Maize
Trail has been open throughout the summer holidays
and includes a free ice cream.
See our home page for the forthcoming dates.
